MDF Sheets
MDF, or Medium Density Fibreboard, is a versatile engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres. These fibres are then combined with wax and a resin binder, and they are formed into sheets under heat and pressure. MDF is known for its smooth surface, uniform density, and excellent machining properties. When working with MDF, proper safety precautions, such as wearing a dust mask and eye protection, should be taken because cutting or sanding MDF can generate fine dust particles. Additionally, proper ventilation is recommended when using adhesives or finishes containing volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
