Tree Loppers
Tree loppers, also known as pruning loppers or lopping shears, are specialized tools used for trimming and pruning tree branches. They are designed to cut through thicker branches that are too large for regular hand pruners or scissors. Tree loppers typically have long handles and a bypass or anvil cutting mechanism. Proper maintenance of tree loppers is important for their longevity and cutting efficiency. Clean the blades after each use to remove sap or debris, and periodically oil the pivot points to ensure smooth operation. If the blades become dull or damaged, you can sharpen them with a file or have them professionally sharpened. When using tree loppers, it’s essential to follow safety precautions. Wear protective gloves and eyewear and be mindful of your surroundings and potential falling branches. Make cuts at a slight angle just above the branch collar, which is the swollen area where the branch meets the trunk or larger branch.
